Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations apply to electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) with a voltage of up to 1000 volts for alternating current or up to 1500 volts for direct current. You will need to comply with the waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) Regulations if you generate, handle or dispose of waste that handles this voltage.

We offer a free service anyone wanting to drop off non-hazardous WEEE at our waste management facility and issue all paperwork to cover the Duty of Care and Consignment System.

A small fee is charged for hazadous e-wastes to cover the processing and issuing of consignee returns to the Environment Agency.

Our Facility is open 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday and 9:00am to 11:00am Saturday.

Unacceptable Wastes

We accept all 10 categories of WEEE at our waste management facility and won't charge for most wastes however, we will not accept mixed wastes containing hazardous non electrical/ electronic items. Such wastes will unfortunately be rejected as we cannot treat them.

A charge of £5.00 per unit is made for Cathode Ray Tubes, whether from computer equipment or televisions.

Unforseens

For Health and Safety reasons, we ask that no contraries (wastes contrary to the manifest/ transfer note/ consignment note) or unforseens (wastes we do not expect to find) are buried inside the WEEE waste. They offer a potential hazard to health and we reserve the right to reject your entire load if such dangers arise. Please also be aware that such circumstances may give rise to the issuing of a Near Miss Event, reportable to RIDDOR.
